OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our Families Inc., along with our administration and professional staff, is dedicated to the mission of building

bridges that foster partnerships and connections with families, children, youth, parents, foster parents,

caregivers, and agencies across all communities.

We offer a range of tools designed to empower and strengthen relationships through

skill-building, active listening, education, behavior modification, and rebuilding

connections. Our focus is on empowering staff, agencies, caregivers, foster parents,

and parents and children alike, fostering attachment and empowerment.

With a wealth of experience and resources, Our Families Inc. aims to be a cornerstone

in every home and agency, facilitating opportunities for families, management, and staff

to thrive, grow, and heal together. Our approach emphasizes understanding and

supporting one another emotionally, developmentally, socially, physically, and intellectually.

At Our Families Inc., we believe in always having each other's backs and being present

for one another, regardless of the circumstances. Our guiding principles include respect,

cultural competency, awareness, knowledge, non-gender bias, accountability, and

transparency to ensure that no family or individual feels alone, unseen, or unheard on

our journey together.

Meet Pierce

Pierce Johnson Jr. is a passionate and dedicated Certified Trainer, (ToT) Trainer of Trainees, Coach and Consultant in the Child Welfare field in the New York City area, with over 20 years of experience. During this time establishing meaningful connections and creating nurturing environments promoting growth and development through adoptions, case management, training staff, foster parents, families and parents. He is recognized as a champion in this field.

Pierce was featured in the NewYorker magazine in December 2013 for his best practices, commitment and dedication to case management and Family Finding, a pilot model in New York City for which he was awarded The Maslow Award. In 2023 Pierce was honored with the Award for Excellence in Training, from the New York City Administration for Children Services (ACS) for his trainings of staff, foster parents, parents and families.

Pierce was trained in Teen Connect in 2018. In 2019 becoming a Certified Supervisor/Coach and trainer, he co-trained and coached the Connect model to a variety of excellent programs in many states. This also includes Father’s Inc in Atlanta, which facilitated an admirable group of all father’s in the Atlanta inner city community. Pierce is currently in collaboration in the role of Chief Executive Officer, to open Our Families Inc. a community based program, to continue the much needed journey of offering quality services to father’s, families, children and foster parents.

Meet Mildred

Mildred Guillermo is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience as a Certified Trainer, specializing in Child Welfare in the New York City area. With a passion for empowering children, youth, parents, and caregivers, Mildred has served in various capacities, including Early Childhood Teacher, Child Development Specialist, and Consultant. Her dedication to supporting families, particularly Spanish-speaking communities, has been a driving force throughout her career.

Having navigated the complexities of the child welfare system, Mildred excels in providing nurturing guidance through case management, adoption services, and comprehensive training for staff, foster parents, and families. Her proficiency in delivering high-quality language services in Spanish ensures effective communication and understanding among all parties involved, fostering a conducive environment for optimal care.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Mildred was awarded the prestigious Award for Excellence in Training by the New York City Administration for Children Services (ACS) in 2023. Currently, she is actively engaged in the establishment of Our Families Inc., where she serves as the Chief Executive Officer. This community-based initiative aims to continue the vital mission of delivering top-notch services to families and foster parents, bridging language barriers with offerings available in both English and Spanish.

Meet Patricia

Patricia Lerouge is a seasoned training coordinator with over two decades of experience in the foster care industry. Throughout my career, I have honed my skills in developing and implementing training programs that effectively support the growth and development of foster care professionals, Children, Bio families and foster parents.

My commitment to excellence and passion for empowering individuals in the field have been the driving forces behind my successful tenure in this role. I take pride in my ability to cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters continuous improvement and professional growth. With a strong foundation in training coordination and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the foster care system, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families in need.
